About the role

As a QA Intern on Gloocan, you will help build confidence in our test automation framework. You will write our DSL scripts, design coverage from feature specs, exercise real web apps with Playwright, and give first-user feedback on DSL and tool usability.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the internal DSL and write test scripts covering web flows
  • Design test cases from feature specs — happy paths, edge cases, regression coverage
  • Manually test new features and report issues directly to the developer
  • Log bugs with clear repro steps, screenshots/recordings, expected vs actual behavior
  • Use Playwright to test real websites/web apps
  • Identify flaky tests and diagnose root causes (timing, selectors, race conditions)
  • Test the internal DSL syntax itself — break it, find confusing error messages/edge cases
  • Build and maintain a growing regression suite
  • Document test coverage, known gaps, and workarounds
  • Give feedback on DSL/tool usability as a first-time user

Must-have

  • Solid QA fundamentals: test case design, bug lifecycle, black-box testing, regression vs smoke testing
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright
  • Comfortable with command-line basics (git, npm, terminal)
  • Can read/write basic JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed CS/SE degree
  • Has written real Playwright test scripts (project, coursework, or internship)

Preferred

  • Understands locators/selectors, waits, and flaky test causes
  • Basic understanding of how browsers work (DOM, network requests, DevTools)
  • Exposure to CI running automated tests (e.g., GitHub Actions)

Nice-to-have

  • Exposure to mobile testing (Appium/adb)
  • Basic Go reading ability
  • Curiosity about DSLs/compilers

Soft skills

  • Comfortable being the first real user of an unreleased tool
  • Detail-oriented, writes clear reports
  • Self-driven, asks good questions
